DAY 1 ARRIVE IN DELHI BY: FLIGHT TBA AT: TBA HOURS
This evening arrive at Indira Gandhi International airport. A HI -TOURS representative will meet you outside the customs gate and later escort you to hotel in an chauffeured driven private air-conditioned vehicle.

Rooms will be pre-assigned with VIP amenities. Upon arrival, check in to your rooms.

DAY 2 DELHI
This morning enjoy an orientation tour of Delhi accompanied by an expert. Discover and explore the one thousand year old architecture!

The city consists of two parts - Old & New Delhi. Old Delhi was the capital of Muslim India between 17th and 19th century and has many mosques, monuments and forts. New Delhi, the imperial city was created by the British as the capital of India. In 1911, Edwin Lutyens, the most renowned English architect of the day, was chosen to design New Delhi which flaunts a surprising Number of impressive monuments related to its conquests by the Mughals, Turks, Persians and ultimately the British.

Begin your day with an exploration starting in Old Delhi, visiting the Jama Masjid, the royal mosque built by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan in 1656. It is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world and is constructed in red sandstone and white marble.

Enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, the spine of Old Delhi.
Jahanara Begum, the daughter of Shah Jahan designed this commercial place in 1648. Drive past Red fort - a UNESCO World heritage site (Closed on Monday). Built in red stand stone by Shah Jahan in 1648, this magnificent monument is laid out along the river Yamuna as an irregular octagon

Later visit New Delhi. View India Gate, a war memorial arch built in honor of 90,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives in World War I. Drive through the majestic boulevards of New Delhi. The Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidential Palace) is where the Viceroy once lived and now is the official residence of the President of India.

Continue to Humayun’s Tomb - a UNESCO World heritage site, the first great example of Mughal architecture in India, it developed to become the hallmark of the Mughal Dynasty.

Next on the itinerary visit the evolution of Indo-Islamic architecture - the Qutub Minar - a UNESCO World heritage site, a soaring tower of victory, 72.5meter high with five distinct stories.

DAY 3 DELHI
This morning visit the buildings and monuments which were constructed post independence era. Begin your tour at Bahai Temple (also called as Lotus Temple) . Set amidst pools and gardens, the temple was completed in 1986. Inspired by the lotus flower, its design is composed of 27 free-standing marble clad "petals" arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides.

Drive past other important buildings at Nehru Place - a large commercial center in Delhi.

Continue driving to Gurgaon.

One of the countries prominent industrial and financial centers. Many multinational companies choose to locate their operations in Gurgaon and now it is called the call centre capital of the world. Drive past the prominent buildings of the region.

Return to Delhi. En-route, observe the rich diversity of Delhi through the architecture of its places of worship. Experience a Religion & Philosophy tour, visiting a Hindu & Sikh temple.

DAY 4 DELHI - KALKA - SHIMLA
Early morning a HI -TOURS representative will escort you to railway station for your train to Kalka-

Upon arrival, you will be assisted by a HI -TOURS representative for a short Toy Train ride to Dharampur-

DAY 5 SHIMLA
This morning depart for a Colonial Heritage Tour of Shimla. Visit the historic Vice-regal Lodge, a 45-minute drive from the resort. The Vice-regal Lodge is the erstwhile residence of the Viceroys of India. After a short tour of the building and exploring the sprawling grounds drive down to Annadale. Packed with history and heritage, Annadale offers beautiful view of the only wide open grounds in Shimla.

Later enjoy a walking tour of Shimla town. Begin with a visit to The Mall. The main promenade that runs along the top of the ridge, it is also a busy shopping area with old colonial buildings, souvenir shops and restaurants. Also visit the Christ Church. Situated on the ridge, Christ Church is the second oldest church in Northern India.

Visit other historic buildings which offer a peek at the attractions of this historic town. Walk back through the Mall to conclude the walk at Clarke’s hotel; from there drive back to your hotel.

Remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure.

DAY 6 SHIMLA - CHANDIGARH
Today morning leave for Chandigarh covering a distance of 120 kms in approx 4 hours.

The city of Chandigarh is known internationally for its architecture and urban planning. It is the first planned city of India and spans 56 square kilometres in area. The city was designed bya team of renowned architects- Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Matthew Nowicki, and Albert Mayer.

On arrival, check in to your hotel.

Afternoon accompanied by an architecture expert leave for an orientation tour of the city.

One of the most significant urban planning experiments of the 20th century; the city was planned by Le Corbusier, the famous French architect-planner. The city has had far-reaching impact, ushering in a modern idiom of architecture and city planning all over India and has become a symbol of planned urbanism. During your tour visit Secretariat and High Court buildings which are veritable proofs of the architectural expertise of Le Corbusier. Other places of interest include the State Library, Shanti Kunj, Moonlight Garden, Bougainvillea Garden, Bidhan Sabha and University - each a fine specimen of modern art. Also visit the Rock garden, a famous tourist spot, which is an architectural wonder, covering an area of 6 acres; Museum-cum-Art Gallery which houses an extensive range of paintings and sculptures by contemporary Indian artists; Asia’s largest rose garden, Zakir Gulab Bagh, spread out over 30 acres of land, boasting of 50,000 rose trees of 1600 different species.

DAY 7 CHANDIGARH - DELHI - AGRA
This morning a HI -TOURS representative will escort you to domestic airport for flight to Delhi- Meet & greet on arrival who assist you prior to your departure to Agra - covering a distance of 200 kms in approx 5 hours.

Agra - Two great Mughal monarchs, Akbar and Shah Jahan, transformed the little village of Agra into a befitting second capital of the Mughal Empire - giving it the name Dar-ul-Khilafat {seat of the Emperor}. Today, a visitor to Agra is caught up in a world of contrasting edifices of red sandstone and white marble, narrow gallies and quaint buggies, and that irresistible charm that this favourite city of the Mughals still retains. It is not surprising, that modern Agra still reflects its Mughal heritage most conspicuously.

Arrive in Agra and check in to your hotel.

DAY 8 AGRA - FATEHPUR SIKRI - JAIPUR
Early morning visit Taj Mahal (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

The 17th century Taj Mahal is often called a poem in stone which was created by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by a Persian architect Ustad Isa (Taj Mahal remains closed on Friday) .

Return to hotel for breakfast.

Later visit Agra Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). An imposing structure with walls of red sandstone, almost two miles long and contains palaces, audience halls and mosques. The fort presents a good sampling of Islamic and Hindu architectural styles.

Later leave for Jaipur covering a distance of 265 kms in approx 6 hours. En-route, visit Fatehpur Sikri (a UNESCO world heritage site). Fatehpur Sikri - the deserted red sandstone city was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and Palace in the late 16th century..

Jaipur, "The City of Victory", was first intended to be "Sawai Jaipur", named after the boy Prince who commissioned it - Maharaja Jai Singh II - a warrior, astronomer and politician who reigned over the Mughals from 1699 to 1743. Today's Jaipur is pink, visually described as the city shaded with the autumn colors of a sunset.

Arrive in Jaipur and check in at your hotel.

DAY 9 JAIPUR
This morning accompanied with an architecture expert explore Jaipur.
Considered by many urbanists to be one of the best planned cities, the city was planned according to Indian Vastu Shastra (Vedic Planning for the comfort and prosperity of the citizens). The expert will highlight unique architectural features of Rajasthani Architecture that are incorporated even today in many modern day buildings such as Jharokhas, Chhatris, and Lattices screen made of perforated stone. A must for those interested in architecture!

Begin your tour with a visit to magnificent Amber Fort. Tour the chambers and hallways of the palace, famous for the excellence of its design and decoration.

Afternoon enjoy an orientation tour of the city. Visit the Jantar Mantar Observatory. Built in the 1700s but still appears to be futuristic. Continue to City Palace to witness the Maharaja’s private collection of textiles and armory. Culminate the tour with a photo stop at Hawa Mahal also known as the "Palace of the Winds." This beautiful façade is probably the most-photographed in Jaipur. Enjoy cycle-rickshaw ride in the colorful bazaar of old city.

Time permitting: Enjoy a shopping tour in the Pink City. Only Mumbai or Delhi comes close to offering the array of goods found here, and foreign buyers for wholesale and retail outlets descend in droves to stock up on textiles, rugs, pottery, jewelry, shoes, miniature paintings, and ready-made clothing and housewares.

DAY 10 JAIPUR - MUMBAI

Commonly known as ‘Bombay’ until 1996, Mumbai is the commercial capital of India. An inebriating mix of glamour, industrialists, megastars, bollywood and business houses and more, this mass of humanity is a frantic mélange of India’s extremes.

Meet & greet on arrival by an HI -TOURS representative who will escort you to hotel.

Later leave for an architectural tour of the city.

Mumbai is a treasure trove of unique buildings and architecture. The tour will showcase some of the most notable buildings in Mumbai.

Begin your tour at the Gateway of India, the principal landmark of the city. The gateway was conceived, following the visit of King George V to India in 1911, and was officially opened in 1924. Later visit, Prince of Whales museum (Closed on Monday).

Continue to Flora Fountain, the ornamentally and exquisitely sculpted architectural heritage monument built in 1864, is a fusion of water, architecture and sculpture, and depicts the Roman goddess Flora. Visit the bustling Crawford Market which is a great sight for photography!! Drive past VT or Victoria Termnus, a major landmark of this vibrant city. It was designed in Italian Gothic style by F. W. Stevens. The first train to steam out of Mumbai was from here to Thane in 1853.

Thereafter drive past Mumbai University; one of the oldest universities of India. It is ranked amongst top 500 universities across the world. Visit Oval Maidan which is named because of its oval shape and is situated just south of Church gate. Continue to Horniman Circle which is situated in the Fort district of Mumbai. Also visit Town Hall.

DAY 11 MUMBAI
This morning enjoy an excursion to Elephanta Island - (a UNESCO World heritage site).

A one-hour boat ride across Mumbai Harbour transports you back in time to the island of Elephanta, the glorious abode of Lord Shiva.

The island is famous for its great cave shrine, excavated in the sixth century, dating back to the period, when the island was known as Gharapuri, the Fortress City. With the arrival of the Portuguese, the island was renamed Elephanta, after the huge carved elephant, they found at the place where they landed.

Return by boat to the pier. Remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure for relaxation and independent activities.

DAY 12 MUMBAI

Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, is a metropolis that represents a perfect blend of old world charm and modern day charisma. Exuding the atmosphere of 400 years old Muslim splendor, Hyderabad is a city of infinite variety Whimsical palaces, erstwhile stately homes and crowded bazaars filled with shops selling Hyderabadi pearls, incense and copper utensils characterise the city, while in the distance looms Golconda Fort.

Begin your tour of the capital city of Nizams with a visit to the magnificent Charminar. A proud sentinel in the heart of the old City, Charminar (four towers) is a majestic edifice built in 1591 by Quli Qutub Shah to propitiate the evil forces from destroying his new city with the plague. Continue to the Mecca Masjid located near the Charminar, this huge and impressive m osque can accommodate 10,000 worshippers at a time. Its huge arches and colonnades were fashioned out of single slabs of granite quarried 14 Km away. End your tour with a visit to Salar Jung Museum (closed on Monday), the third largest museum in India and is counted among the best museums in the world.

DAY 13 HYDERABAD
This morning leave for a visit to the stately tombs of the Qutab Shahi kings. Lying just outside the outer wall of the Golconda fort, it is built in a unique architectural style, which is a mixture of Persian, Pathan and Hindu forms. These graceful structures are surrounded by landscaped gardens with beautifully carved stonework. (Please note: Qutab Shahi tombs are closed on Friday).

Later visit Golconda Fort. Located 13km west of the city, the legendary citadel is built on a 120 metre high granite hill, was originally founded by the Kakatiyas. One of the most remarkable features of this fort is its advanced acoustics, which enables a hand clap at the gate to be heard in the citadel.

Enjoy the dazzling Sound and Light show at Golconda Fort holds the audience spellbound. Not only for those who are interested in history but also for those who have come to spend a quite evening. This colourful spectacle is organized in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
